Across Florida, rising housing costs and limited housing supply have made homeownership increasingly difficult for hardworking families. While Habitat affiliates are building and repairing homes in communities across the state, we know we cannot build our way out of the housing crisis alone.
Advocacy allows us to address the policies and systems that shape housing affordability. By educating policymakers and amplifying the voices of local Habitat organizations, homeowners, volunteers, and supporters, we can create lasting solutions that help more families achieve the dream of homeownership.

How We Advocate
Habitat Florida serves as a statewide voice for Habitat for Humanity affiliates by:
Advocating for policies that expand affordable homeownership opportunities.
Building relationships with state legislators and agency leaders.
Coordinating a unified legislative agenda informed by Florida Habitat affiliates.
Providing advocacy training, resources, and support to affiliate leaders.
Organizing State Lobby Day and other opportunities for advocates to engage with policymakers.
Monitoring legislation and keeping affiliates informed on issues that impact their communities.
